Euromed Center
Signed by the architect Massimiliano Fuksas, Euromed Center is a key step in the development of Marseilles, spanning 70,000 m2, in line with the place de la Méditerranée. Opposite the Silo, harmoniously blending in with its environment, the project answers to new conceptions of urbanity. Strategically placed and visible, fully accessible, as much by public as by private transport, Euromed Center contributes to the mutation of the Marseilles coastline and to extension of the business district continuing on from the Docks.
Functional diversity
With its office buildings, a 4-start hotel, a park, a public car park and a cinema complex, the future district will welcome a pluralist public. Cultural and shopping centre, economic and leisure destination, Euromed Center has very high ambitions which confirm its privileged stance at the crossroads of the expectations of the people of Marseilles, economic stakeholders and business travellers.
Economic vitality
With more than 45,000 m² of offices, Euromed Center is the major new tertiary centre of Euroméditerranée. The resolutely contemporary architecture of the 4 office buildings bears witness to the dynamism of the business district and is a natural transition between the boulevard de Dunkerque and boulevard du Littoral. The buildings, from 10,350 to 15,100 m2, will be certified to be of High Environmental Quality and will boast the BBC-Effinergie (low energy building) energy performance label. Overlooking a retail and pedestrian mall, they will offer bright and comfortable open office work spaces with many potential configurations. In the long-term, these offices will welcome around 3,000 employees.
Citizen commitments
The entire project is run in the aim of ensuring that environmental values are sustainably upheld. Bestowing the business district with an offer of offices of high quality with managed energy use, Euromed Center enters into a sustainable development approach with the recapture of areas fallen into escheat which can now renew contact with the economic and cultural dynamic of the town of Marseilles. On 30 September 2014, Cofely (GDF Suez group) signed an agreement for the creation of a marine energy conversion plant on the Arenc mole with promoters (Constructa), investors (Foncière des Régions) and EPA Euroméditerranée. Euromed Center will thus be connected to this new unit of around 1,000 m² which will supply both cold and heat. This 100% natural solution will provide for energy savings.
