M5 Les Docks
First major residential project by Euroméditerranée, the M5 les Docks programme is the result of reconversion of an old industrial site into a mixed housing offer of lofts, town houses, villas, villas with patios and suspended villas with large patios extending to the outside.
The originality of this programme is its organisation around a central square, with significant plant cover, resembling a village square. These buildings were constructed in accordance with sustainable development and in the aim of energy saving.
Reconversion of an industrial building on the site and the integration of shops and public facilities on the street-level ground floor, like the recent opening of an inter enterprise crèche (CAP CANAILLES), reinforce the quality of the whole making M5 a reference project, of which the major principles are today applied to new projects: building of new housing and rehabilitation of warehouses into housing, shops and social centres.
Designed by Yves Lion, Roland Castro and Sophie Denissos, the three buildings received the “Golden Pyramid Award” for the best property project, and the “Silver Gilt Pyramid” for the sustainable development project.
