Inter-regional centre for heritage conservation and restoration
It was in January 1992 that the decision to create a branch of the national restoration centre in Marseilles was taken, along with the decision to relocate personnel to run the centre. In 1994, to arbitrate the first Inter-regional centre for heritage conservation and restoration, the Ville de Marseille decided to buy 14,500 m² in the former Seita building.
The CICRP works with different types of public heritage such as museums, historical monuments or records.e patrimoine public tels que les musées, les monuments historiques ou les archives.
It carries out the French government’s missions (studies, research, technical and scientific recommendations etc.), those of the Ville de Marseille, and where applicable of other French regional authorities.
The CICRP is the first inter-regional centre in France, covering three regions: PACA, Languedoc-Roussillon and Corsica.
