Within the Belle-de-mai centre, the Ville de Marseille is creating quality reserves for its museums, in the immediate vicinity of the CICRP. It is an unprecedented guarantee of the proper conservation of its heritage, and therefore, in the medium-term, a source of savings.
The Marseilles museum reserves combine the Conservation du Patrimoine des Musées and the Fonds Communal d'Art Contemporain.
These reserves are shared by the museums of Marseilles. We can refer to them as centres for the "long-term storage” of works, hence the expression "silo reserves". Objects can be loaned, photographed, used in exhibitions or studies, and for restoration.
