Les Terrasses du Port
Les Terrasses du Port boast their bold architecture on Boulevard Euroméditerranée, at the heart of the domain of the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille. They are symbolic of the project to reunify the town with its port. By restoring a new use to this port area, inaccessible to the public for many years, Les Terrasses du Port offer the people of Marseilles a new window onto the sea, at the heart of a district in full regeneration.
Not far from Voûtes de la Major, this complex runs along the quays of the port over 120 metres, along the docks building near to the place de la Joliette and Euromed Center. Located between the Silo, the concert hall which opened in 2011, and the MuCEM (Musée des Civilisations de l'Europe et de la Méditerranée-Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations), opened in June 2013, the Terrasses du Port are located in a vibrant, animated and culturally rich environment, offering a variety of services for visitors.
Les Terrasses du Port offer restaurants, a promenade and relaxation space, a 260-metre long outdoor seating area with sea view, a quality retail offer and unique services on four floors 7 days a week. Each of the four levels has its own specific features. The fitness centre, home centre and food shops can be found at sea level. The food hall and local shops can be found at quay level. The health and beauty centres and fashion can be found on the bridge. Finally, high-end brands, designers, creators and restaurants with outdoor seating areas overlooking the sea can be found on the terrace.
The English property owner Hammerson is developing its business in the United Kingdom but also in France, where it already owns and manages seven regional scale shopping centres. Les Terrasses du Port are also doubling employment in Marseilles, through the site and during the course of its operation. Almost 3,000 jobs have been created.
