Square Vaudoyer and Place Albert Londres
Square Vaudoyer links Boulevard Euroméditerranée, the J4 esplanade and the historical Panier district.
This area was previously dedicated to the technical maintenance of a sewage lift system and A55 motorway tunnels.
A concrete slab was laid in the continuation of the Esplanade de la Major and above the infrastructures of the SERAMM (Service d'Assainissement Marseille Métropole) tunnels and station, in order to create a 2,000 m² relaxation area, with urban furniture, games for children, lighting and plantations (pine trees and fig trees bringing a Mediterranean touch).
A public stairway and lift link the lower and upper parts.
The new lower square, called Albert Londres, spans 3,200 m², 1,000 m² of which will be reserved for the outdoor seating areas of 8 bars and restaurants, sheltered from the sun and the mistral.
